Es ist schon kompliziert, mit Teilen der SRSF-Crew einen Surf-Trip zu organisieren – und erst recht mit der ganzen Bande!

Darum ist es immer etwas Besonderes, wenn es sich dann doch mal vereinbaren lässt! Zuletzt gelang uns das vor genau zwei Jahren. Damals verschlug es uns nach Lagos/Portugal. Nachdem im Rahmen der SRSF Invasion_Normandy zu Ostern dieses Jahres die Spots der Region als gut befunden wurden, machte sich nun die gesamte Crew auf, die Strände Nordfrankreichs zu erobern.

Normandie im "Movember", perfekt für unsere kleine, aber feine SRSF-Truppe.

It's not always easy to plan a trip with parts of the SRSF crew, especially not if it's nearly the whole "gang".
Therefore it is always something special, if we can arrange it. Last time we organized a similar trip 2 years ago, when we took a flight to Lagos, Portugal. After the SRSF Invasion_Normandy (easter 2013) we decided to head to the north of France again.

Im Vergleich zu unserem letzten Trip nach Barneville-Carteret war der Surf-Forecast diesmal etwas durchwachsen: kaum Offshore-Wind und starke Böen schränkten die Spotauswahl erheblich ein. Die Westküste läuft bei jeglichem Swell aus Westen, bei Ostwind und Mid to High Tide. Die Strände im Norden brauchen starken Südwest- bis Nordost-Swell, Südwind und Mid to High Tide.

Natürlich stand das Surfen bei unserem Trip im Vordergrund, aber auch die kulinarischen Vorzüge der Normandie wurden ausgiebig zelebriert. Nicht zuletzt verdanken wir das Papa Jacques, der uns nicht nur die traditionellen Speisen, sondern auch die Geschichte seiner Heimat näher brachte. Auch ein Segelturn sowie ein Besuch im „legendären“ Le Kissing mit entsprechendem Bartstyling durften bei unserem MOrmandy-Trip nicht fehlen. Beides bekam dem einen besser, dem anderen schlechter.

Different to last time's trip to Barneville-Carteret, the surf forecast looked a little marbled. Hardly any offshore winds and strong gusts restricted the choice of surf spots. The west coast usually needs all westerly swells with easterly winds and mid to high tide. The spots located on the north coast need southwest to north east swells and wind from a southerly direction.
Of course our goal was once again, that we can surf, but we also took advantage of the culinary offerings of Normandy. Not to forget Papa Jacques who not only showed us typical eating habits and food but informed us about the history of this region. We could even enjoy some sailing and last but not least, we had the chance to go the the famous club "Le Kissing" with the adequate shaving style for Movember. Both experiences called off similar reactions in our stomachs.

Auch wenn dieses Mal die Bedingungen etwas schwieriger waren, zeigte sich die Normandie am Ende unseres Surftrips mit Offshore-Wind und feinem Swell von ihrer fast perfekten Seite.

Danke der SRSF Bande, dass wir es wiedermal geschafft haben, gemeinsam zu surfen und yayyyy wir sehen uns zu Weihnachten in Fuerteventura!!!!!!

Even when conditions were a little tricky this time, Normandy still showed us close to perfect conditions with swell and offshore wind in the last few days.
